Voice Over Workshop


El locutor juega un papel fundamental en la telecomunicación, en los comerciales y anuncios; en proveer información con credibilidad porque es el protagonista del mensaje. Debe comunicar efectivamente lo que está escrito en el libreto, contar una historia dando a cada palabra un sentido emocional, creando e interpretando a un personaje real.
 Taller teórico-practico, el cual desarrollará técnicas para la correcta utilización de la voz, la respiración y la importancia de la relajación; correcta  pronunciación y dicción. Este taller tiene como finalidad afianzar tus cualidades como locutor y aumentar tu experiencia frente al micrófono para poder responder a las demandas del mercado.
 Sesiones prácticas al micrófono de diferentes áreas del trabajo de “voiceover”.  Radio & TV promos, IVR System, audio libros, caracterizaciones.

Duración:    2  sesiones (5 horas cada sesión)

 ANNA SILVETTI – Actriz – Locutora
Cuenta con una prolífica carrera actoral de  31 años en los que ha realizado 24 telenovelas, 35 obras de teatro, y 7 películas. Ha sido locutora y conductora de varios programas para Televisa en México, D.F. y ha sido la voz corporativa para Gems Televisión y Discovery Channel en Miami, además de poner voz a un sinfín de anuncios comerciales, películas y series de TV. Actualmente dicta el Certificado en Locución y Animación para Radio y Televisión en el Koubeck Center de la Universidad de Miami, además de impartir coaching privado y a grupos.

Carmen Cecilia Limardo es "CC". Una profesional de la comunicación, periodista y locutora.  La conducción de programas de variedad, entretenimiento, noticias  y entrevistas en Televisión y Radio y la constante demanda de sus servicios como locutora en la industria de la publicidad han hecho de CC la voz que identifica importantes marcas y productos, voz de películas y series, voz  promocional de emisoras de radio al igual que de audio libros, E-learning, caracterización de personajes y videojuegos. Actualmente conduce para Galavisión el programa Casa al Día para toda Latinoamérica y Estados Unidos y es la voz de programas especiales de Univisión, Discovery, AXN, XM radio, entre otros



MEMO SAUCEDA – Actor – Locutor
Inicia su carrera artística en 1982 actuando en más de 25 obras de teatro al mismo tiempo que estudia la Licenciatura en Sistemas.  Después de graduarse viaja a Londres donde realiza un postgrado de actuación en el Drama Studio London.  Regresa a radicar a la ciudad de México donde trabaja en doblaje, novelas, películas, teatro, comerciales y como locutor.  En 1997 se establece en Miami donde trabaja como presentador en diversos programas de Televisión, y como locutor de radio.  Tiene 3 premios Emmy, 2 como escritor y 1 como editor.  Es presidente de la local de AFTRA y de ALAS (Association of Latino Artists of South Florida). Además de su trabajo como locutor, actualmente escribe, actúa y produce el segmento de “El Papi” en “Viva la Familia” de Univisión.

Voice-over Demo


In the world of voice acting, your demo is your best opportunity to present your skills to agents, producers, etc.  
The demo is your audio resume, your letter of introduction, is your main marketing tool, so is important that you have it if you are to compete in the world of professional voice-over to offer your services. The purpose of a demo is to get you work!

In today's voice over world, the trend is to have specifics demos, one for commercials, one for narration, IVR, characters, etc. no longer than 30 seconds each. For the purpose of marketing voice-over talent in today's highly technological word, it is absolute must that your VO demo exists as an electronic. The demo can be emailed which makes it immediately available for listening and/ or downloading worldwide.

RECOMMENDATIONS
  • Don't produce your demo if you're not ready.
  • You must have the proper training, some experience to offer a professional level.
  • Never put your demo something you can not play.
  • Include a wide range of variety in style and character, even if your demo is focusing on you voice stye, rather than character. Keep listener guessing as to what happen next.
  •  Keep your demo short.

Character VO Coaching

Rob Paulsen, one of the most prolific cartoon voice over artists in North America, is offering VO coaching.

Best known as the voice behind Raphael from the 1987 cartoon of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, this VO actor announced that, for the first time, is providing private coaching via Skype, by phone or in person in LA, and he will be hosting voice over events across the US.

How To Read Copy


First, read through silently or aloud quietly to get the gist of the spot and find any troublesome words. Look up the correct pronunciation if you’re not sure when practicing at home, or ASK the director if you’re in an actual voice over session. Never be afraid to ask questions especially if you’re voicing something highly technical. It’s better to get the correct pronunciation and mark your copy before the session starts.

It probably goes without saying, but to be a successful voice over performer, you have to be an excellent reader. You read in phrases, not single words. The smooth flow of the copy is important. You really have to be on “auto pilot”. I find that if I start thinking about a word I just said, I definitely start to stumble. By the way, it’s a good idea to practice just plowing ahead even if you stumble, as it will at least give the engineer an idea of the timing of your reading. They’ll stop you if they want to fix it right then.

When practicing on your own, try reading each sentence with different inflections, emphasizing different words each time and with different attitudes. It will help to train your ear and your voice. As you practice, try the copy faster, slower, warmer, put a smile on your face; pretend you’re sharing a secret with a friend, etc. Read it to someone, record it on any type of recording device you might have around. Play it back. Be honest about how it sounds. Try it again – and again.

Once you feel you have a good feel for the copy – try another script. Work with several varied types of scripts each requiring a different vocal quality or attitude. This practice can go on over a period of days, weeks, or months. As a professional, I find I’m constantly learning new things - new ways of interpreting, new ways to use my voice, and certainly, new technical skills.
